Book: Dandelions for Dinner

  • Wednesday, July 1, 2015

7:00 PM

253 Harvard St, Brookline, MA (map)

  • After a long hiatus from reading, we're kicking off our new season with a memoir that is highly-relevant to the current crisis in Greece, Dandelions for Dinner.

Told through the eyes of a child, Sam Stamatis recounts his experiences of life in Greece between 1933 and 1946.   With the help of his son, Peter, we will learn about one family’s survival of famine, World War II, occupation and a subsequent bloody civil war.  This is a story experienced by many in Greece and elsewhere ... a story of hope, a strong mother, and survival.

Meet the Author via Skype…We will have the pleasure of speaking with the author, Peter Stamatis.  He will join us via Skype for part of the meeting.  So, get your questions ready!
